At Polybotus in Phrygia, in present-day Turkey, Saint John, called the Wonderworker, bishop, who worked hard, against the opinion of the emperor Leo the Armenian, in favour of the veneration of the sacred images.
The miracles
There was never a formal cause: he has been honoured as a saint since before the Church's formal processes began.

The Roman Martyrology remembers him on 4 December as the bishop of Polybotus who worked for the veneration of the sacred images against the emperor Leo the Armenian.
