At Jerusalem, Saints Xenophon and Mary and their sons John and Arcadius, who, having given up senatorial rank and great possessions, are said to have embraced the monastic life in the Holy City with equal ardour of soul.

There was never a formal cause: he has been honoured as a saint since before the Church's formal processes began.

The Roman Martyrology remembers him on 26 January as a son of Xenophon and Mary, who gave up rank and wealth and took up the monastic life at Jerusalem.
