Religious brother of the Missionaries of the Sacred Heart of Jesus, martyr of the persecution in Spain
Who they were
José del Amo del Amo was born at Pumarejo de Tera near Zamora on 12 June 1916; he wished to become a priest but found study difficult and asked to profess as a cooperator brother, making his temporary vows in 1934, and at the time of the persecution he was just twenty, the youngest of the group.
Pope Francis beatified him on 6 May 2017 among the Spanish martyrs of the Missionaries of the Sacred Heart of Jesus.

As a martyr he was raised to the altars without a miracle.
