José María Urruchi Ortiz

Who they were

José María Urruchi Ortiz was born at Miranda de Ebro, near Burgos, on 17 February 1909, made temporary profession on 24 August 1927 and perpetual profession on 15 September 1930, and was ordained priest on 20 October 1932. He lived at Nava del Rey, Coruña, Cuenca and Vigo before reaching Madrid, and was seized at night and killed on 22 August 1936; Pope Francis beatified him on 22 October 2022.
