Who they were
José Martínez Torres was a layman, born at Valdepeñas de Jaén on 18 March 1889 and married on 4 September 1924, who was killed on 11 September 1936 at the seventh kilometre of the road from Fuensanta de Martos to Los Villares. He was beatified on 13 December 2025 by Pope Leo XIV among the 124 martyrs of Jaén.
