Priest of the Missionaries of the Sacred Heart of Jesus, martyr of the persecution in Spain
Who they were
José Oriol Isern Massó was born on 16 June 1909 at Villanueva i Geltrú near Barcelona, entered the Pequeña Obra in 1920, made his vows in 1930 and was ordained priest in 1933; he was assigned to the community of Canet de Mar as teacher and formator, a religious of regular life, retiring and reserved.
Pope Francis beatified him on 6 May 2017 among the Spanish martyrs of the Missionaries of the Sacred Heart of Jesus.
