Who they were
José Peña Pinto was born at Alcalá la Real on 26 September 1907 and ordained a priest in 1930; he was assistant parish priest of Santo Domingo de Silos at Alcalá la Real, and was killed in 1936. He was beatified on 13 December 2025 by Pope Leo XIV among the 124 martyrs of Jaén.
