José Pérez Fernández was born on 4 September 1912 at Sobras, in the province and diocese of Almería. He was a layman and a member of Catholic Action.
He was killed on 29 May 1938 at Turón, and Pope Francis beatified him on 25 March 2017 among José Álvarez-Benavides de la Torre and 114 companions, diocesan priests and lay faithful killed between 1936 and 1938.
