Who they were
José Sánchez Alabarces was a priest, born at Noalejo in the province of Jaén on 10 January 1871 and ordained on 19 May 1894, who was confessor to the Poor Clares and Franciscan tertiaries of Alcalá la Real and was killed on 4 October 1936. He was beatified on 13 December 2025 by Pope Leo XIV among the 124 martyrs of Jaén.
