The decree on martyrdom describes her as a professed religious of the Handmaids of the Blessed Sacrament and of Charity, born on 22 February 1893 at Angles in the diocese of Girona; the decree notes that the documents about her consecrated life have been lost; in the world she was Josefa Boix Riera. She was beatified on 28 October 2007 by Pope Benedict XVI.
