Who they were
Josefa Gironés Arteta was born at Carasonio in Navarre on 17 March 1907, made her religious vows as a Daughter of Charity of St Vincent de Paul in 1936 and had charge of the linen store at the Hospital of San Carlos in Madrid. The decree places her among the two sisters shot on 22 November 1936 in the Las Vistillas gardens at Madrid and buried in the eastern cemetery, and she was beatified on 13 October 2013 by Pope Francis.
