Who they were

Josefa Naval Girbés was born at Algemesí, Valencia, on 11 December 1820, the eldest of six children. At eighteen, with her spiritual director's approval, she made a vow of chastity.

A simple woman, docile to the Spirit, she lived consecrated to God in the world and gave herself to teaching children the catechism in her home town, reaching the heights of Christian perfection in serving her neighbour.
