Who they were
Josefina Bonaventura Sauleda Paulís was born at Sant Pol de Mar near Barcelona on 30 July 1885 and became a nun of the Barcelona monastery of Our Lady of Montsió, where she was twice prioress for three years and then mistress of novices, known for charity and for fervour in her duties.
She was seized, tortured and killed on 31 August 1936. She was beatified on 28 October 2007 by Benedict XVI, among Antero Mateo García and his eleven companions of the Second and Third Orders of Saint Dominic.
