At Madrid in Spain, Blessed Giovanni Antonio Burro Mas, religious of the Order of Saint John of God and martyr, was killed during the persecution against the Church for having borne witness to the Gospel.
The Acta Apostolicae Sedis record that he was a professed member of the community of Ciempozuelos, born at Barcelona on 28 June 1914, and that he was killed at Madrid on 5 November 1936.
