Juan Antonio López Pérez was born on 19 September 1881 at Cantoria, in the province and diocese of Almería, and was ordained priest in 1904.
He was killed on 22 September 1936 at Albox, and Pope Francis beatified him on 25 March 2017 among José Álvarez-Benavides de la Torre and 114 companions, diocesan priests and lay faithful killed between 1936 and 1938.
