Who they were

Juan Bautista Ferrís Llopis was born at Valencia in Spain on 24 March 1905, and after a short time with the Piarist Fathers he met the Servant of God Pío Heredia, felt himself called to the monastic life, entered the monastery of Santa María de Viaceli, and was ordained priest in 1932.

He was beatified on 3 October 2015 by Pope Francis, among the Spanish Cistercian martyrs of the Strict Observance.

As a martyr he was raised to the altars without a miracle.

The Dicastery for the Causes of Saints names him among the Spanish Trappist martyrs beatified on 3 October 2015.
