Who they were
Juan Bautista Torrents Figueras was born on 8 December 1873 at La Secuita in the province of Tarragona, entered the Claretian Congregation in 1885, and was ordained priest in September 1897 with a dispensation for not having reached the canonical age.
He was killed on 17 March 1937 at Montcada, and Pope Francis beatified him on 21 October 2017 among the 109 Spanish Claretian martyrs.
