Who they were
Juan Martínez was a Spanish priest of nearly forty, skilled in controversy, who served as sacristan and confessor to the Spanish residents in Prague; on the day of the killing he was seized as he tried to hide the Blessed Sacrament, and his head and right hand were cut off. He was one of Frederick Bachstein and thirteen companions of the Order of Friars Minor killed at Prague on 15 February 1611, and was beatified on 13 October 2012 by Benedict XVI.
