Who they were
Juan Nepomuceno Zegrí y Moreno was born at Granada on 11 October 1831. He studied humanities and law and was known for his prayer and his charity to the poor.
Ordained in Granada cathedral on 2 June 1855, he served in parishes and founded the Sisters of Charity of Our Lady of Mercy.
