Who they were
He built the hospital at Ybycuí and the Hogar San José for orphaned children, and died of typhus caught while visiting a sick soldier.

Why that counted as sanctity
Declared a Servant of God by the Congregation for the Causes of Saints in 2013; Bishop Celestino Ocampo of Carapeguá opened the diocesan inquiry into his cause of beatification in July 2020.
