In the town of Turis in the territory of Valencia in Spain, Blessed Laureano Ferrer Cardet, priest, was killed in the persecution together with two religious of the Capuchin Third Order of the Blessed Virgin of Sorrows.
The Acta Apostolicae Sedis give his religious name as Laureano Maria and his name in the world as Salvador, born at Burriana in 1884, a man of merciful and kindly spirit, a faithful image of the good Samaritan, who suffered martyrdom at Turis on 16 September 1936.
