Who they were
Laureano María Ferrer Cardet was a priest of the Third Order Capuchin of the Sorrowful Virgin, born at Burriana in 1884; the decree says he had a merciful and kindly spirit and was a faithful image of the good Samaritan, and he was martyred in the town of Turis in the province of Valencia on 16 September 1936.
He was beatified on 11 March 2001 by John Paul II, among Vicente Cabanes Badenas and his eighteen companions of the Third Order Capuchin of the Sorrowful Virgin and the laywoman María del Carmen García Moyon.
