Who they were
Elisa Angela Meneguzzi was born at Giarre, Abano Terme, near Padua, on 12 September 1901 to a poor, honest, believing farming family. She walked two kilometres to Mass daily and became a catechist.
As Sister Liduina of the Sisters of St Francis de Sales she became a mirror of humility and charity, showing God's mercy among the poor, the sick and prisoners. She died at forty, wholly abandoned to God's will, offering her life for peace in the world.
