Lojze Grozde

Who they were
Lojze Grozde was born on 27 May 1923 at Gorenje Vodale near Ljubljana among poor Slovene farmers, and was raised by his grandparents in deep faith. At twelve he attended the Eucharistic Congress in Ljubljana and from then on had a boundless love for the Eucharist.
A student and member of Catholic Action, his work was always accompanied by prayer. During the Second World War, after long torture, he was killed because of his faith at only twenty.
