Who they were
Lorenzo Palomino Villaescusa was born at Salobreña on 22 August 1867, was ordained priest on 9 March 1895 and spent some years in pastoral work in Argentina; imprisoned repeatedly, he offered himself in vain in place of his nephew, a father of a family, and was killed together with him on 9 August 1936. He was beatified on 26 February 2022 by Pope Francis among Cayetano Giménez Martín and fifteen companions.
