Who they were
In a galley anchored off Rochefort on the French coast, Blesseds Louis-François Lebrun and Gervais Brunel, priests and martyrs, of whom the first was a monk of the Benedictine Congregation of Saint Maur and the second prior of the Cistercian abbey of the Trappists: both were handed over to inhuman imprisonment during the French Revolution and consummated their martyrdom consumed by disease.

As a martyr he was raised to the altars without a miracle.
Why that counted as sanctity
The Roman Martyrology remembers him on 20 August as a Maurist Benedictine monk who died in a prison galley off Rochefort.
