The decree on martyrdom records him as sixty-seven years old, born in the town of Loiron, then in the diocese of Le Mans and now of Laval; given to the care of souls, he finally withdrew to Laval. He was beatified on 19 June 1955 by Pius XII, among Jean-Baptiste Turpin du Cormier and his companions.
