Louis Higashi

Who they were

At Nagasaki in Japan, Blessed Anthony of Saint Bonaventure, of the Order of Friars Minor, and Dominic Castellet, of the Order of Preachers, priests, and twenty companions, martyrs, some of them lay people and many of them children: all suffered martyrdom for Christ by the sword or at the stake.

Among those named is Blessed Louis Higashi.

As a martyr he was raised to the altars without a miracle.

Why that counted as sanctity

The Roman Martyrology remembers him on 8 September among the twenty companions martyred at Nagasaki by the sword or at the stake.
