At Cordoba in Andalusia in Spain, the holy martyrs Amator, a priest, Peter, a monk, and Louis, who, during the persecution of the Moors, were cruelly killed for not ceasing to preach openly the Gospel of Christ.

There was never a formal cause: he has been honoured as a saint since before the Church's formal processes began.
Why that counted as sanctity
The Roman Martyrology remembers him on 30 April as a martyr cruelly killed at Cordoba during the persecution of the Moors for preaching the Gospel openly.
