Louisa Jaques (Mary of the Trinity)
Swiss-South African convert who became a Poor Clare in Jerusalem
Who they were
Born in Pretoria to a family of Swiss Calvinist missionaries, she became a Catholic and was received among the Poor Clares of St Clare's monastery in Jerusalem in 1938, taking the name Sister Mary of the Trinity, and died there in 1942.

Cardinal Pierbattista Pizzaballa, Latin Patriarch of Jerusalem, signed the edict opening her cause on 29 November 2024; the diocesan inquiry opened on 30 April 2025.
