Who they were
Lucien Galan, a priest of the Paris Foreign Missions Society, was forty years old and had already been a missionary in China; he was visiting catechumens in distant villages inland from Champasak with two young men when their car was ambushed, and the priest and one of the young men died side by side on 12 May 1968.
He was beatified on 11 December 2016 by Pope Francis, among the martyrs of Laos.
