At Carthage, in present-day Tunisia, Saints Lucius, Montanus, Julian, Victoricus, Victor and Donatian, martyrs, who, for the religion and the faith they had learned from the teaching of Saint Cyprian, faced martyrdom under the emperor Valerian.

There was never a formal cause: he has been honoured as a saint since before the Church's formal processes began.
