Luigi Novarese

Who they were
Luigi Novarese was born at Casale Monferrato on 29 July 1914, the last of nine children, and was ordained in the Lateran basilica on 17 December 1938. His mother taught him love for Our Lady from childhood.
In 1943 he founded the Marian Priestly League, and then the Silent Workers of the Cross. He renewed the pastoral care of the sick by making them active members of the Church, and wanted retreats to be open to all the sick.
