Born in Milan in 1811, she entered the Canossian Daughters of Charity in 1833 after meeting the founder St Maddalena di Canossa, and later served as superior of a new community.

The Holy See granted the nulla osta on 6 December 1993 and the bishop of Pavia, Giovanni Volta, opened the diocesan process on her life, virtues and reputation for holiness.
