German sister of Jewish birth, a Dernbach Sister killed at Auschwitz
Who they were
Luise Löwenfels was born into a Jewish family near Bamberg, became a Catholic in 1935 and entered the Poor Handmaids of Jesus Christ (the Dernbach Sisters) as Sister Maria Aloysia. Arrested in the Netherlands on 2 August 1942 in the round-up of Catholics of Jewish origin that also took Edith Stein, she was killed at Auschwitz on 9 August 1942.

Why that counted as sanctity
The diocese of Limburg opened the beatification process in October 2015 and had questioned more than fifty witnesses by 2016; she is a Servant of God.
