Who they were
Luke Banabakintu was born at Ntlomo and was a well-loved servant of the chief Mukwenda. Baptised and confirmed on 28 May 1882, he made his First Communion that day and from then on was an example of upright life who loved above all to talk of religion with his friends.
Though he could easily have escaped death, he did not. He is one of the 22 martyrs of Uganda, St Charles Lwanga, St Matthias Mulumba Kalemba and companions, put to death under King Mwanga.

As a martyr he was raised to the altars without a miracle.

A servant who would not flee death for Christ.
