Who they were
At Meros in Phrygia, in present-day Turkey, Saints Macedonius, Theodulus and Tatian, martyrs, who, under the emperor Julian the Apostate, after many tortures were placed by the governor Almachius on red-hot iron grills and faced their martyrdom rejoicing.
The miracles
There was never a formal cause: they have been honoured as saints since before the Church's formal processes began.
Why that counted as sanctity
The Roman Martyrology remembers them on 19 July as martyrs of Meros put on red-hot grills under Julian the Apostate.
