Who they were

The Roman Martyrology for 13 July names her among the blessed virgins and martyrs put to death at Orange in France during the French Revolution, giving her name in the world as Élisabeth Verchière. The Acta Apostolicae Sedis record that Pope Pius XI beatified the thirty-two women killed at Orange in July 1794 on 10 May 1925.
