Who they were
Magdalene Sanga, wife of the catechist Blessed Anthony Sanga, was a member of the Confraternity of the Rosary. She was put to death with her husband on the hill at Nagasaki on 10 September 1622, among the fifty-two martyrs who died there before a great crowd.
She is one of the 205 martyrs killed in Japan for the Catholic faith between 1617 and 1632 whom Pius IX declared Blessed on 7 July 1867.
