Who they were
Manuel Contreras Villén was born at Castillo de Locubín on 28 March 1891 and ordained on 14 September 1921; he was curate of Santo Domingo de Silos at Alcalá la Real, and was killed in 1936. He was beatified on 13 December 2025 by Pope Leo XIV among the 124 martyrs of Jaén.
