Who they were
Manuel Martínez Jiménez was born on 12 March 1869 in the village of Oria, in the province and diocese of Almería, and was a layman, a lawyer and a farmer, and a member of the Conferences of Saint Vincent de Paul and of Catholic Action.
He was killed at Pozo de Cantavieja on 13 September 1936, and was beatified on 25 March 2017 by Pope Francis, among the companions of José Álvarez-Benavides de la Torre.
