Who they were
Marcantonio Durando was born at Mondovì on 22 May 1801 to a pious mother and a liberal, agnostic father. He joined the Vincentians and was ordained on 12 June 1824.
He supported the new Propagation of the Faith, spread the Miraculous Medal association among young women, and founded the Sisters of Jesus the Nazarene to care for the sick and abandoned youth.
