Who they were
Marcel Callo was born at Rennes on 6 December 1921. Apprenticed to a printer at thirteen, he combined his work with scouting.
During the war, in forced labour, he comforted his exhausted fellow prisoners in the faith, and for this he was sent to the camps. He died of privation at Mauthausen on 19 March 1945, not yet 24, and his body was burned in the crematorium.

A young worker who kept up his companions' faith under Nazi forced labour and died for it.
