Who they were
Marcel Carrier was a layman born in Paris on 29 April 1922 and baptised on 25 July 1926; having found the Young Christian Workers he became a federal member. To spare his family he left with the compulsory labour service and reached Weimar in August 1943, and because of his heavy correspondence he was arrested on 16 April 1944; he died on 6 May 1945, aged 23, during the evacuation of Flossenbürg. He was beatified on 13 December 2025 by Pope Leo XIV.
