Marcel Denis

Who they were

Marcel Denis, a priest of the Paris Foreign Missions Society, was forty-two years old and a tireless pioneer of the mission who had walked the whole upper part of the province of Khammouane for the Gospel; he was held hostage for three months and shot on 31 July 1961.

He was beatified on 11 December 2016 by Pope Francis, among the martyrs of Laos.

As a martyr he was raised to the altars without a miracle.
