Who they were
Commemoration of Saint Mark, bishop of Jerusalem, who, first among the Gentiles, had the guidance of the Church of the Holy City, which had scattered for fear of the persecutions and which he began to gather again by his faith and his labour.
The miracles
There was never a formal cause: he has been honoured as a saint since before the Church's formal processes began.
Why that counted as sanctity
The Roman Martyrology remembers him on 22 October as the first Gentile bishop of Jerusalem, who gathered its scattered Church again.
