Maria Adeodata Pisani

Who they were
Maria Teresa Pisani was born in Naples on 29 December 1806, daughter of Baron Pisani, and raised by her grandmother; when she died, the ten-year-old went to boarding school, where she received a good Christian education. At nineteen she went to Malta, her father's homeland.
As Sister Maria Adeodata, a Benedictine, she became abbess of the monastery of St Peter, governing wisely and caring for the poor and needy for the spiritual good of the community. She died on 25 February 1855.
