Who they were
María del Carmen Alejandra Cabrera Llergo, of Pozoblanco, was born on 21 September 1886 and was one of the lay women of the diocese of Córdoba put to death in the persecution of the Church in Spain, suffering martyrdom on 20 September 1936. She was beatified on 16 October 2021 by Pope Francis among Juan Elías Medina and 126 companions of the diocese of Córdoba.
