Who they were
María del Carmen González Ramos was born at Antequera, Málaga, on 30 June 1834, sixth of nine children of a Christian family, and was loved from childhood for her goodness, kindness and lively intelligence.
As Mother Carmen of the Child Jesus she founded the Franciscan Tertiary Sisters of the Sacred Hearts of Jesus and Mary.
