Hoffmann, born Helena Joanna at Zgoda in Silesia, entered the Sisters of Mary Immaculate and died young after years of illness.

Why that counted as sanctity
Her beatification process began in 1999; the archbishop of Katowice closed the diocesan stage on 18 May 2019, the anniversary of her death, and the acts were handed to the Congregation for the Causes of Saints in Rome in June 2019. Her home parish at Świętochłowice marked the 115th anniversary of the birth of the Servant of God in February 2025.
